Topic: Alternative Approaches to Emotional Health
Enhancements to traditional modes of therapy are increasing in use. From this session, participants will understand the appropriate uses for and be familiar with simple, non-intrusive techniques that can be used in addition to or as an alternative for traditional talk therapy, both during therapy sessions and as an at-home coping mechanism. Provide the client with a safe, healthy and stabilizing mental escape that he or she can access whenever needed, know how to use aromatherapy to directly influence the limbic region of the brain and promote relaxation, manage moods (including depression, anxiety and stress) and facilitate emotional release and healing.
*Attendees can earn one CEU credit in SW (social work), MHT (DMH Mental Health Therapist) and LPC (Licensed Practical Counselor).
Three Lunch & Learn Series are planned for 2016, each with a different topic/focus.
